Instant Obedience!

Gen 17:23  And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.

Instant Obedience is the only kind of Obedience there is; Delayed Obedience is Disobedience.

Every time God calls us to any duty, He is offering to make a covenant with us; doing the duty is our part, and He will do His part in special blessing.

The only way we can Obey is to Obey "In The Selfsame Day," as Abraham did.

To be sure, we often Postpone a Duty and then later on do it as fully as we can.

It is better to do this than not to do it at all. But it is then, at the best, only a crippled, disfigured, half-way sort of duty-doing;

And a postponed duty never can bring the full blessing that God intended, and that it would have brought if done at the earliest possible moment.

It is a pity to Rob ourselves, along with Robbing God and others, by Procrastination.

In the selfsame day is the Genesis way of saying, "Do It Now.

Hard Places Teach Us Faith!

Trial is the fruitful soil of trust.

Difficulties are the divine incentives which demand and develop our confidence in the divine faithfulness and love. 

It is so easy for us to lean upon the things that we can see and feel that it is an entirely new experience for us to stand alone and walk with the unseen God as Peter walked upon the sea.

But it is the lesson we must learn if we are ever to dwell in the eternal realm, and faith shall be our only sense and God shall be our All in all.

Very gently does He suit the test to our feeble strength, and lead us on as we are able from more to more.

The Astonishing Wisdom And Power Of GOD In Creation

                                                                                   

Before there was light, there was GOD.

Before time, space, or matter existed, the Eternal and All-Sufficient LORD dwelled in perfect glory.

The Bible opens with a Thunderous declaration: "In the beginning, GOD Created the heavens and the earth."

NO preexistent matter. NO raw materials. NO evolutionary process.

God brought Everything into existence-Out of Nothing!

By the WORD of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of His mouth… 

For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.

Psa 33:6  By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Psa 33:9  For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

Ponder the Omnipotent Voice of GOD piercing the silence of eternity: "Let there be…"-and there was! 

By the sheer Power of His Word, galaxies spun into place. 

The sun, moon, and stars; the earth, the seas, and Everything within them-sprang Instantly into being. 

Such a Reality should leave us in Awe and Reverent silence.

Consider the Wisdom of GOD in creation. 

Nothing was random, haphazard, or incomplete. 

GOD Designed Every atom, Every law of physics, and Every living creature with Perfect Intelligence.

Every blade of grass, Every planetary orbit, Every microscopic cell-All Declare the Intricate Genius of the Almighty.

As Scripture testifies, "By wisdom the Lord laid the earth's foundations, by understanding He set the heavens in place."

Pro 3:19  The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

The Structure of a snowflake, the Instincts of migrating birds, and the Motion of celestial bodies-each bears the Unmistakable Fingerprints of Divine Wisdom. 

O Lord, how many are Your works! In wisdom You made them all.

Psa 104:24  O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of Thy riches.

Now reflect on the Power of GOD in creation.

What He Purposed, He instantly brought to pass. 

He did not toil or struggle. 

He simply spoke-and from the void of nothingness, the fullness of creation appeared. 

The vast universe, with its countless galaxies and immeasurable distances came forth at His Command.

As Jeremiah declares, Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for You!

Jer 32:17  Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

These truths should Silence All Human Pride and Boasting.

We are NOT self-made. 

We are NOT the product of chance or accident. 

We are the Deliberate, Handcrafted Work of the Almighty GOD.

Everything was Declared "Very Good" by the Creator who made All things for His own glory.

You are worthy, our LORD and GOD, to Receive Glory and Honor and Power, for You created all things, and by Your Will they were Created and have their being.

Rev 4:11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
